Overview

The Moldova International Stock Exchange (BIMx) is the market operator authorised to operate the Regulated Market and the Multilateral Trading Facility of the Republic of Moldova. Admission of brokers and issuers opens on 28 September 2026, and the first listing is planned by the end of 2026.

Institutional framework

BIMx operates under the supervision of the National Commission for Financial Markets, in accordance with Law No. 171/2012 on the capital market. Transactions are settled through the Central Securities Depository on a T+2 basis in the national currency (MDL).

Shareholder structure

BIMx was established through a public-private partnership bringing together the Public Property Agency, leading financial institutions of the Republic of Moldova, the insurance sector, the energy and telecommunications sectors, and the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) as technical partner and strategic shareholder.

Trading platform

BIMx markets are operated on the ARENA platform, developed by the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) and provided on a SaaS basis, with remote connection for authorised brokers.

Admitted instruments

Issuers and instruments currently traded on the BVM can be admitted to the BIMx markets through a separate admission process under the BIMx Rules; existing documents can be reused if they are valid and up to date.
