BIMx obtains its market operator licence from the CNPF

BIMx has obtained a market operator licence from the CNPF – a decisive step towards the European integration of the Republic of Moldova's capital market.

24.08.2026, Chișinău – The Moldova International Stock Exchange (BIMx) announces that it has obtained a market operator licence and authorisations to administer and operate a regulated market and a multilateral trading facility. The decision was adopted by the National Commission for Financial Markets (CNPF) on 21 August 2026. The CNPF also confirmed the composition of the BIMx management bodies: Veronica Arpintin was confirmed as Chair of the Executive Body and Andrian Iastremschi as Vice-Chair of the Executive Body, each for a three-year term.

The licence and authorisations granted provide the legal framework required to organise and conduct transactions in financial instruments in accordance with the legislation in force.

The licence comes at a favourable time, as the Republic of Moldova accelerates its path towards EU accession. BIMx is aligned with the objectives set out in the National Capital Market Development Strategy 2025–2030, contributing directly to the creation of a functioning capital market.

BIMx's mission is to mobilise private capital for the sustainable economic development of the Republic of Moldova, providing a transparent, predictable and inclusive framework for all. BIMx will thus become a benchmark financial infrastructure for the Republic of Moldova and a platform for integration with international capital markets, recognised for operational excellence, sound corporate governance and its contribution to the region's economic prosperity.

Veronica Arpintin, Chair of the BIMx Executive Body, said:

“Setting up a stock exchange is the result of a joint effort by the shareholders, the team and the partners of BIMx – ACI Partners and Dentons Romania – who helped build an institutional and governance framework aligned with best practice.”

Andrian Iastremschi, Vice-Chair of the BIMx Executive Body, added:

“Together with the BIMx team, we have created a fully functional operational infrastructure and configured the ARENA trading system for Moldova's capital market. This is the result of intensive work and a shared effort to build a modern, secure stock exchange aligned with European standards.”

Alexandru Sonic, Chair of the BIMx Council, stated:

“The CNPF's confirmation of the BIMx shareholding and management structure strengthens an unprecedented public-private partnership. We remain committed to listing the first issuers and registering brokers in the coming period, with the strategic and technical support of the Bucharest Stock Exchange – a partner with strong international experience.”

BIMx will continue its operational and technical preparations for the launch of the ARENA trading platform, scheduled for autumn 2026. Potential issuers have already shown clear interest, and the first issues are expected this year.

The market operator's activities will be carried out under CNPF supervision to ensure the proper, transparent and efficient functioning of the capital market infrastructure.
